Sankofa Action Fund
For more than eight years, our Portland community has helped co-create spaces where healing is real, feels safe, and where it’s possible. The Sankofa Action Fund was created to honor this legacy and to expand access to the care our Black and Brown community deserves.
Why This Fund Matters
Healing requires more than therapy alone. It requires protected spaces, shared resources, and community connection.
While many of our events are free and we offer limited pro-bono therapy services, the need for culturally affirming care continues to grow. This fund helps us meet that need.
Your support makes it possible to:
Provide reduced-cost and no-cost therapy to 25 individuals a year
Host free community events and healing spaces
Provide low cost psychological assessments
Provide emergency financial assistance for our clients
Sustain long-term community wellness
Expand access to culturally specific care
This fund is a way to practice solidarity through action and to care for one another in real, tangible ways.

Ease Is Our Birthright
We honor the legacy of those who imagined freer futures for us, especially Queer, Trans & Black activists, healers, and community builders who believed we deserved more than survival. Their work reminds us that rest, joy, and care are not luxuries. They are part of our inheritance.
The Sankofa Action Fund turns that honor into action, creating real pathways for healing, support, and belonging today.
